This temple was twice selected as commanding headquarters by the intruding Burmese army when they attacked Ayutthaya Thus preserving most of the artifacts from destruction

The origins of this Wat are unknown. The temple holds one of the Largest Reclining Buddha Images which was built during The Early Period of the Ayutthaya  Region
